How do I look after the floor?
Sweep or vacuum, and re-oil now and then. The main thing is keeping room humidity between 40 and 60 %. Permanently dry air shrinks the wood and opens the joints.
How long does bespoke manufacture take?
From confirmation of the quote count on six to ten weeks. What matters most is whether the chosen grain is available in the quantity needed — solid oak cannot be ordered like stock goods.
Can a wood floor go over underfloor heating?
Yes, with selected patterns. Please tell us in advance — we will choose the thickness and laying method so the floor does not block the heat.
What is the difference between oil and lacquer?
Oil lets the wood breathe and a scratch can be repaired locally. Lacquer resists water better, but damage means sanding the whole area. For a home we suggest oil, for commercial use lacquer.
Do you send samples?
Yes, free of charge across the Czech Republic. Tell us which patterns interest you — wood always looks different in a photograph than in your own light.
Do you provide technical sheets and documentation?
Yes. Each pattern has a technical sheet with dimensions, tolerances, thermal resistance and the recommended laying method. We send them as PDF and, on request, as input for drawings.
Do you have CAD files for designers?
For stringers and unusual details we send DWG. For floors a technical sheet and the pattern specification is usually enough — we draw the laying plan ourselves after the survey.
How does cooperation work on larger projects?
We assign you one person who runs the job from survey to handover. You do not have to work out who to call about the date and who about the tone. For repeat work we offer trade terms.
Can you deliver in phases?
Yes. On developer projects we deliver floor by floor or section by section to the construction schedule. We hold the timber from one batch so the tone does not differ between phases.
What warranty do you give and what voids it?
The statutory warranty on the product and the fitting. It is voided by persistently unsuitable air humidity and by maintenance outside the instructions supplied. Variation in grain, knots and tone is a natural property of solid wood and is not a defect.
Do you also survey and draw a laying plan?
Yes, free within 50 km of Karlštejn, further by arrangement. The laying plan is part of the quote for every job that includes fitting.
