About this project
An oak staircase and floor in an attic gallery. The steps meet the floor without a visible joint and the balustrade is from the same timber. Everything comes from one batch so the tone still matches years later, when the wood darkens naturally. An attic sees big swings in temperature, so we chose a greater thickness and let the timber acclimatise for longer.
